Turnstile

Who is Turnstile?

Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Turnstile was born in 2010 as an explosion of energy within the hardcore scene.

Formed by Brendan Yates (vocals), Franz Lyons (bass and vocals), Pat McCrory (guitar), Daniel Fang (drums), and Brady Ebert (guitar, until 2022), the band quickly distinguished itself by transforming the heaviness of hardcore into something accessible, vibrant, and full of vitality. Their sound blends aggression, melody, and groove, creating an atmosphere that goes beyond the moshpit: it's about unity, freedom, and collective catharsis.

More than a band, Turnstile has become a movement. Their shows, albums, and videos convey a message of intensity, but also of joy and empowerment, something rare within traditional hardcore.

Turnstile Discography

Nonstop Feeling (2015)

Turnstile's debut album is a true calling card. With explosive riffs and lyrics that speak of vital energy and youth, Nonstop Feeling is raw, direct, and full of attitude. It's hardcore at its most visceral, yet already hinting at the freshness the band would bring to the genre.

Time & Space (2018)

Released by Roadrunner Records, this album took Turnstile to a new level. With refined production and guest appearances, such as Tina Halladay (Sheer Mag), the album balances heaviness and experimentation. Songs like "Moon" and "Real Thing" show that hardcore can be as expansive as it is emotional.

Glow On (2021)

The album that cemented Turnstile as a global phenomenon. Blending hardcore, indie, R&B, and even synthesizers, Glow On is a bold and innovative sonic experience. With songs like "Blackout" and "Mystery," the album appeared on several best-of-year lists and took the band to major festivals like Lollapalooza and Coachella.

Never Enough (2025)

Released on June 6th, it features an even more experimental and expansive sonic fusion, and was accompanied by a visual album shown at the Tribeca Festival.

Turnstile in Videos: 3 Essential Clips

Holiday

Filmed in a raw and direct style, "Holiday" epitomizes the essence of Turnstile: contagious energy and freedom of expression. It's one of the videos that best introduces the band to new listeners.

Blackout

One of Glow On 's biggest hits, the music video for "Blackout" showcases the visual and emotional intensity that Turnstile imbues with their aesthetic. Psychedelia and chaos blend in images that capture the band's spirit.

Mystery

"Mystery" is introspective and atmospheric, yet still weighty. The music video conveys this duality with scenes that shift between the real and the abstract, showcasing the group's more experimental side.

Turnstile live: pure catharsis

If there's one place where Turnstile truly shines, it's on stage. Their shows are known for their overwhelming energy, where connecting with the audience is as important as the performance itself. Jumping, screaming, and throwing themselves into the moshpit are all part of the collective experience of seeing Turnstile live.

The band has proven they can transform any stage into a space of freedom and catharsis. Turnstile live is much more than a show: it's an invitation to experience hardcore in a new, positive, and liberating way.
